Core i7-920 vs A10-7890K comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-920 is faster than the A10-7890K. Despite this, the A10-7890K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-920 has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the A10-7890K has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the A10-7890K. With our hardware info, we find that the A10-7890K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-920. Also, the A10-7890K has a significantly higher turbo speed. The A10-7890K outputs less heat than Core i7-920 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i7-920 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the A10-7890K
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-920 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
