Core i7-8750H vs Ryzen 7 4800H specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 4800H is faster than the Core i7-8750H. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-8750H in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 7 4800H has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Core i7-8750H has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-8750H. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 4800H has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-8750H. Also, the Ryzen 7 4800H has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 4800H has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i7-8750H. Despite this, the Core i7-8750H has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 7 4800H.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-8750H has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
