Core i7-8700T vs Ryzen 3 PRO 3200G benchmarks
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-8700T performs better than the Ryzen 3 PRO 3200G. Despite this, the Ryzen 3 PRO 3200G has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-8700T has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Ryzen 3 PRO 3200G has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 PRO 3200G. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 PRO 3200G has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-8700T. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. A Core i7-8700T CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 3 PRO 3200G CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 3 PRO 3200G has more L2 cache than the Core i7-8700T. Despite this, the Core i7-8700T has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 3 PRO 3200G.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-8700T has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
