Core i7-3770K vs Xeon E5-2660 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon E5-2660 is faster than the Core i7-3770K. Despite this, the Core i7-3770K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon E5-2660 has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Core i7-3770K that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-3770K. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-3770K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-2660. Also, the Core i7-3770K has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-3770K CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2660 CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Core i7-3770K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
