Core i7-11700K vs Core i5-13400F comparison
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-13400F performs better than the Core i7-11700K. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i7-11700K in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i5-13400F has slightly more cores than the Core i7-11700K. Indeed, the Core i5-13400F has 10 cores compared to 8 cores found in the Core i7-11700K. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i7-11700K has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-13400F. Also, the Core i7-11700K has a slightly higher turbo speed. The info from our database shows that the Core i7-11700K has more L2 cache than the Core i5-13400F. Despite this, the Core i5-13400F has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core i7-11700K.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-11700K has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
