Core i7-10700T vs Xeon E5-2683 v3 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E5-2683 v3 beats the Core i7-10700T in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i7-10700T has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-2683 v3 has significantly more cores with 14 cores whereas the Core i7-10700T has 8 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i7-10700T. Both the Core i7-10700T and Xeon E5-2683 v3 have the same clock speed. Despite this, the Core i7-10700T has a significantly higher turbo speed. A Core i7-10700T CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2683 v3 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i7-10700T has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
