Core i7-10700F vs Ryzen 9 5980HX specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-10700F is faster than the Ryzen 9 5980HX. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Ryzen 9 5980HX in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 9 5980HX has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-10700F. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. The Ryzen 9 5980HX outputs less heat than Core i7-10700F thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 9 5980HX has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i7-10700F. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i7-10700F has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
