Core i5-9500T vs Xeon E5-2620 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-9500T beats the Xeon E5-2620 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2620 in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count but the Xeon E5-2620 has more threads. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-9500T has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-2620. Also, the Core i5-9500T has a significantly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-9500T CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2620 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-9500T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
