Core i5-9500T vs Core i7-3960X specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-3960X is faster than the Core i5-9500T. Despite this, the Core i5-9500T has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Core i7-3960X has more threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i7-3960X has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-9500T. Also, the Core i7-3960X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-9500T CPU outputs less heat than a Core i7-3960X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i5-9500T has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
