Core i5-9500 vs Xeon E5-2650 v3 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-9500 beats the Xeon E5-2650 v3 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2650 v3 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-2650 v3 has significantly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Core i5-9500 has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-9500. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-9500 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon E5-2650 v3. Also, the Core i5-9500 has a significantly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-9500 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2650 v3 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-9500 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
