Core i5-9500 vs Core i5-1335U comparison
In our benchmarks, the Core i5-1335U beats the Core i5-9500 in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-9500 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-1335U has significantly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Core i5-9500 that has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-9500. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-9500 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-1335U. Despite this, the Core i5-1335U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The info from our database shows that the Core i5-1335U has more L2 cache than the Core i5-9500. The Core i5-1335U also has slightly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-9500 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
