Core i5-9500 vs Core 5 120U specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core 5 120U performs better than the Core i5-9500. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-9500 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core 5 120U has significantly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Core i5-9500 has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-9500. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-9500 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core 5 120U. The info from our database shows that the Core 5 120U has more L2 cache than the Core i5-9500. The Core 5 120U also has slightly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Core i5-9500 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
