Core i5-8350U vs Xeon E5-2660 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Xeon E5-2660 beats the Core i5-8350U in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-8350U in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-2660 has significantly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Core i5-8350U has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-8350U. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon E5-2660 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-8350U. Despite this, the Core i5-8350U has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-8350U CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-2660 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i5-8350U has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
