Core i5-7500 vs Ryzen 7 7700X comparison
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 7700X is faster than the Core i5-7500. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-7500 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Ryzen 7 7700X has significantly more cores with 8 cores compared to the Core i5-7500 that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-7500. Our comparison shows that the Ryzen 7 7700X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-7500. Also, the Ryzen 7 7700X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-7500 CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 7 7700X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Ryzen 7 7700X has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Core i5-7500. The Ryzen 7 7700X also has significantly more L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-7500 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
