Core i5-6600 vs Core i7-3940XM benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i7-3940XM performs better than the Core i5-6600. Despite this, the Core i5-6600 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Core i7-3940XM has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i5-6600 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i7-3940XM. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. The Core i7-3940XM outputs less heat than Core i5-6600 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
