Core i5-4460 vs Ryzen 7 7700X benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 7 7700X is faster than the Core i5-4460. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-4460 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 7 7700X has significantly more cores than the Core i5-4460. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 7700X has 8 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Core i5-4460. It also has more threads than the Core i5-4460. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 7700X has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i5-4460. Also, the Ryzen 7 7700X has a significantly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-4460 CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 7 7700X CPU because of its slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Ryzen 7 7700X has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i5-4460. The Ryzen 7 7700X also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Core i5-4460 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
