Core i5-2400 vs Core i7-9750H benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-9750H is faster than the Core i5-2400. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i5-2400 in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Core i7-9750H has significantly more cores with 6 cores whereas the Core i5-2400 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Core i5-2400. Our comparison shows that the Core i5-2400 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-9750H. Despite this, the Core i7-9750H has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-9750H outputs less heat than Core i5-2400 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Core i5-2400 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
