Core i5-11400F vs Ryzen 9 9900X specs and performance

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Ryzen 9 9900X has significantly more cores than the Core i5-11400F. Indeed, the Ryzen 9 9900X has 12 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Core i5-11400F. It also has more threads than the Core i5-11400F. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 9 9900X has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-11400F. Also, the Ryzen 9 9900X has a slightly higher turbo speed. A Core i5-11400F CPU outputs less heat than a Ryzen 9 9900X CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i5-11400F has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
