In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-9700T has slightly more cores than the Core i5-10400. Indeed, the Core i7-9700T has 8 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Core i5-10400. Despite this, the Core i5-10400 has more threads than the Core i7-9700T. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Core i5-10400 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-9700T. In addition, both chips have the same turbo speed. The Core i7-9700T outputs less heat than Core i5-10400 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones.
