Core i3-6098P vs N97 comparison

In our benchmarks, the N97 beats the Core i3-6098P in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core i3-6098P in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the N97 has significantly more cores than the Core i3-6098P. Indeed, the N97 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Core i3-6098P. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core i3-6098P has a significantly higher clock speed than the N97. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the N97 has significantly more L2 cache than the Core i3-6098P. The N97 also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i3-6098P has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
