Core i3-1005G1 vs Xeon E5-1603 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i3-1005G1 beats the Xeon E5-1603 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-1603 in all gaming tests too.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Xeon E5-1603 has significantly more cores than the Core i3-1005G1. Indeed, the Xeon E5-1603 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Core i3-1005G1. But they both have the same number of threads. A Core i3-1005G1 CPU outputs less heat than a Xeon E5-1603 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Core i3-1005G1 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
