Core i3-1005G1 vs N97 benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the N97 is faster than the Core i3-1005G1. Despite this, the Core i3-1005G1 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

With info from our database, we find that the N97 has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the Core i3-1005G1 has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the N97 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i3-1005G1. The info from our database shows that the N97 has more L2 cache than the Core i3-1005G1. The N97 also has significantly more L3 cache.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Core i3-1005G1 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
