Celeron G6900 vs N97 specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Celeron G6900 is faster than the N97. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the N97 in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the N97 has significantly more cores than the Celeron G6900. Indeed, the N97 has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Celeron G6900. It also has more threads than the Celeron G6900. Our comparison shows that the Celeron G6900 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the N97. The info from our database shows that the Celeron G6900 has more L2 cache than the N97. Despite this, the N97 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Celeron G6900.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Celeron G6900 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
