Celeron G1840 vs Core i7-2670QM benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i7-2670QM is faster than the Celeron G1840. Despite this, the Celeron G1840 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-2670QM has significantly more cores than the Celeron G1840. Indeed, the Core i7-2670QM has 4 cores compared to 2 cores found in the Celeron G1840. It also has more threads than the Celeron G1840. Our comparison shows that the Celeron G1840 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-2670QM. The Core i7-2670QM outputs less heat than Celeron G1840 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Celeron G1840 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
