Athlon 3000G vs N97 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the N97 is faster than the Athlon 3000G. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Athlon 3000G in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the N97 has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the Athlon 3000G that has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Athlon 3000G has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the N97. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the N97 has significantly more L2 cache than the Athlon 3000G. The N97 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Athlon 3000G has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
