A6-9500 vs Pentium Silver N5000 specs and performance

In our benchmarks, the Pentium Silver N5000 beats the A6-9500 in overall performance. Despite this, the A6-9500 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Pentium Silver N5000 has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the A6-9500 that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the A6-9500. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the A6-9500 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Pentium Silver N5000. The Pentium Silver N5000 outputs less heat than A6-9500 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the A6-9500 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
