A6-9500 vs Core 2 Duo E8400 comparison
In our benchmarks, the A6-9500 beats the Core 2 Duo E8400 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Core 2 Duo E8400 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the A6-9500 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Core 2 Duo E8400. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core 2 Duo E8400 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the A6-9500
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking.
