A6-9500 vs A6-6400K benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the A6-6400K is faster than the A6-9500. Despite this, the A6-9500 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

With info from our database, we find that the A6-9500 has significantly more cores with 2 cores whereas the A6-6400K has 1 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the A6-6400K has a slightly higher clock speed than the A6-9500. Also, the A6-6400K has a slightly higher turbo speed. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the A6-9500 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
