A12-9720P vs Pentium G3260 specs and performance

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the A12-9720P is faster than the Pentium G3260. Despite this, the Pentium G3260 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

With info from our database, we find that the A12-9720P has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the Pentium G3260 has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Pentium G3260. A A12-9720P CPU outputs less heat than a Pentium G3260 CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the A12-9720P has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
