A12-9720P vs Core i5-4200M benchmarks
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the A12-9720P is faster than the Core i5-4200M. Despite this, the Core i5-4200M has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the A12-9720P has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the Core i5-4200M has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. A A12-9720P CPU outputs less heat than a Core i5-4200M CPU because of its significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the A12-9720P has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
