Xeon X5680 vs Core i5-1345U benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Xeon X5680 beats the Core i5-1345U in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-1345U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i5-1345U has significantly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Xeon X5680 that has 6 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon X5680 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-1345U. Despite this, the Core i5-1345U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The info from our database shows that the Core i5-1345U has more L2 cache than the Xeon X5680. The Core i5-1345U also has significantly more L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Xeon X5680 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
