Xeon X5680 vs Core i5-1335U specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Xeon X5680 beats the Core i5-1335U in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i5-1335U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-1335U has significantly more cores with 10 cores whereas the Xeon X5680 has 6 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon X5680 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-1335U. Despite this, the Core i5-1335U has a slightly higher turbo speed. In terms of cache, the Core i5-1335U has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon X5680. The Core i5-1335U also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon X5680 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
