Xeon X5675 vs Core i7-1260P benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Xeon X5675 beats the Core i7-1260P in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i7-1260P has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-1260P has significantly more cores than the Xeon X5675. Indeed, the Core i7-1260P has 12 cores compared to 6 cores found in the Xeon X5675. It also has more threads than the Xeon X5675. Our comparison shows that the Xeon X5675 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i7-1260P. Despite this, the Core i7-1260P has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-1260P outputs less heat than Xeon X5675 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i7-1260P has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon X5675. The Core i7-1260P also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon X5675 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
