Xeon X5670 vs Ryzen 3 4100 specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Ryzen 3 4100 is faster than the Xeon X5670. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon X5670 in all gaming tests too.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon X5670 has significantly more cores with 6 cores compared to the Ryzen 3 4100 that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Ryzen 3 4100. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 3 4100 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon X5670. The info from our database shows that the Ryzen 3 4100 has more L2 cache than the Xeon X5670. Despite this, the Xeon X5670 has significantly more L3 cache compared to the Ryzen 3 4100.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon X5670 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
