Xeon X5670 vs Core i5-1240P specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i5-1240P is faster than the Xeon X5670. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon X5670 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Core i5-1240P has significantly more cores with 12 cores whereas the Xeon X5670 has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Xeon X5670. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon X5670 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i5-1240P. Despite this, the Core i5-1240P has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i5-1240P outputs less heat than Xeon X5670 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core i5-1240P has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon X5670. However, both these chips have the same amount of L3 cache.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Xeon X5670 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
