Xeon X5670 vs Core i3-1315U specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Xeon X5670 beats the Core i3-1315U in overall performance. Despite this, the Core i3-1315U has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores but the Xeon X5670 has more threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon X5670 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i3-1315U. Despite this, the Core i3-1315U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Core i3-1315U has slightly more L2 cache than the Xeon X5670. Despite this, the Xeon X5670 has slightly more L3 cache compared to the Core i3-1315U.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon X5670 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
