Xeon X5470 vs Xeon X3450 comparison
In our benchmarks, the Xeon X5470 beats the Xeon X3450 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon X3450 in all gaming tests too.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores but the Xeon X3450 has more threads. Our comparison shows that the Xeon X5470 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon X3450. The Xeon X3450 outputs less heat than Xeon X5470 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Xeon X5470 has significantly more L2 cache than the Xeon X3450
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Xeon X5470 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
