Xeon X5470 vs Celeron G6900 benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon X5470 is faster than the Celeron G6900. Despite this, the Celeron G6900 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.

When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon X5470 has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the Celeron G6900 that has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Celeron G6900. With our hardware info, we find that the Celeron G6900 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon X5470. The Celeron G6900 outputs less heat than Xeon X5470 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the Xeon X5470 has more L2 cache than the Celeron G6900

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Xeon X5470 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
