Xeon X5450 vs Xeon E5-450 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Xeon X5450 beats the Xeon E5-450 in overall performance. Despite this, the Xeon E5-450 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
Our spec comparison shows that they have an identical amount of cores and the same number of threads. In terms of clock speed, the Xeon X5450 and Xeon E5-450 are identical in this regard. The Xeon E5-450 outputs less heat than Xeon X5450 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The data shows that both these CPUs have same sized L2 caches
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Xeon X5450 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
