Xeon W3580 vs Xeon X3440 specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon W3580 performs better than the Xeon X3440. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon X3440 in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon W3580 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon X3440. Also, the Xeon W3580 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Xeon X3440 outputs less heat than Xeon W3580 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, both these CPUs have the same amount of L2 cache and L3 cache.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Xeon W3580 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
