Xeon W3580 vs Pentium G4520 specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Xeon W3580 beats the Pentium G4520 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Pentium G4520 in all gaming tests too.
With info from our database, we find that the Xeon W3580 has significantly more cores with 4 cores whereas the Pentium G4520 has 2 cores. It also has more threads than the Pentium G4520. Our comparison shows that the Pentium G4520 has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon W3580. The Pentium G4520 outputs less heat than Xeon W3580 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The cache sizes of these CPUs are different. Indeed, the Xeon W3580 has significantly more L2 cache than the Pentium G4520. The Xeon W3580 also has significantly more L3 cache.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon W3580 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
