Xeon W3520 vs FX-9830P benchmarks

In our benchmarks, the FX-9830P beats the Xeon W3520 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon W3520 in all gaming tests too.

When comparing these CPUs we notice that they have the same number of cores and the same number of threads. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the FX-9830P has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon W3520. In terms of cache, the FX-9830P has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon W3520

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. For instance, the Xeon W3520 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
