Xeon W3520 vs FX-770K specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Xeon W3520 performs better than the FX-770K. Despite this, the FX-770K has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Xeon W3520 has significantly more cores with 4 cores compared to the FX-770K that has 2 cores. But they both have the same number of threads. Our comparison shows that the FX-770K has a slightly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon W3520. Also, the FX-770K has a slightly higher turbo speed. The FX-770K outputs less heat than Xeon W3520 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. The info from our database shows that the FX-770K has more L2 cache than the Xeon W3520
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. For instance, the Xeon W3520 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
