Xeon W3520 vs Core 2 Quad Q9550 benchmarks
In our benchmarks, the Core 2 Quad Q9550 beats the Xeon W3520 in overall performance. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon W3520 in all gaming tests too.
Info from our database shows that they both have the same core count and the same number of threads. With our hardware info, we find that the Core 2 Quad Q9550 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon W3520. The Core 2 Quad Q9550 outputs less heat than Xeon W3520 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption. In terms of cache, the Core 2 Quad Q9550 has significantly more L2 cache when compared to the Xeon W3520
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. For instance, the Xeon W3520 has the same number of threads as cores. This means the the CPU does not support hyperthreading.
