Xeon W-2155 vs Core i5-12500H benchmarks

Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Core i5-12500H performs better than the Xeon W-2155. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon W-2155 in all gaming tests too.

In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i5-12500H has slightly more cores than the Xeon W-2155. Indeed, the Core i5-12500H has 12 cores compared to 10 cores found in the Xeon W-2155. Despite this, the Xeon W-2155 has more threads than the Core i5-12500H. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon W-2155 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Core i5-12500H. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. The Core i5-12500H outputs less heat than Xeon W-2155 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon W-2155 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
