Xeon W-2135 vs Xeon E5-2660 v4 benchmarks

According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Xeon W-2135 is faster than the Xeon E5-2660 v4. Furthermore, our gaming benchmark shows that it also outperforms the Xeon E5-2660 v4 in all gaming tests too.

With info from our database, we find that the Xeon E5-2660 v4 has significantly more cores with 14 cores whereas the Xeon W-2135 has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Xeon W-2135. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Xeon W-2135 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Xeon E5-2660 v4. Also, the Xeon W-2135 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Xeon E5-2660 v4 outputs less heat than Xeon W-2135 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.

Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon W-2135 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
