Xeon W-2125 vs Ryzen 7 PRO 1700X specs and performance
Our benchmark analysis concludes that the Ryzen 7 PRO 1700X performs better than the Xeon W-2125. Despite this, the Xeon W-2125 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 7 PRO 1700X has significantly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Xeon W-2125 has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Xeon W-2125. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon W-2125 has a slightly higher clock speed than the Ryzen 7 PRO 1700X. Also, the Xeon W-2125 has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Ryzen 7 PRO 1700X outputs less heat than Xeon W-2125 thanks to a slightly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
The more cores a CPU has, the better the overall performance will be in parallel workloads such as multitasking. Many CPUs have more threads than cores, this means that each physical core is split into multiple logical cores, making them more efficient. Indeed, the Xeon W-2125 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
