Xeon W-2125 vs Core i7-1260U specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Core i7-1260U beats the Xeon W-2125 in overall performance. Despite this, the Xeon W-2125 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
In terms of the number of cores of each of these CPUs, the Core i7-1260U has significantly more cores than the Xeon W-2125. Indeed, the Core i7-1260U has 10 cores compared to 4 cores found in the Xeon W-2125. It also has more threads than the Xeon W-2125. With our hardware info, we find that the Xeon W-2125 has a significantly higher clock speed than the Core i7-1260U. Despite this, the Core i7-1260U has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i7-1260U outputs less heat than Xeon W-2125 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Modern CPUs generally have more logical cores than physical cores, this means that each core is split into multiple virtual cores, improving efficiency for parallel workloads. Indeed, the Xeon W-2125 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
