Xeon W-2123 vs Core i3-1220P specs and performance
According to the hardwareDB Benchmark tool, the Core i3-1220P is faster than the Xeon W-2123. Despite this, the Xeon W-2123 has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
When comparing core counts for these CPUs, we notice that the Core i3-1220P has significantly more cores with 10 cores compared to the Xeon W-2123 that has 4 cores. It also has more threads than the Xeon W-2123. These CPUs have different clock speeds. Indeed, the Xeon W-2123 has a significantly higher clock speed compared to the Core i3-1220P. Despite this, the Core i3-1220P has a slightly higher turbo speed. The Core i3-1220P outputs less heat than Xeon W-2123 thanks to a significantly lower TDP. This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon W-2123 has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
