Xeon W-11855M vs Ryzen 9 6900HX specs and performance
In our benchmarks, the Ryzen 9 6900HX beats the Xeon W-11855M in overall performance. Despite this, the Xeon W-11855M has the advantage in our gaming benchmark.
With info from our database, we find that the Ryzen 9 6900HX has slightly more cores with 8 cores whereas the Xeon W-11855M has 6 cores. It also has more threads than the Xeon W-11855M. With our hardware info, we find that the Ryzen 9 6900HX has a slightly higher clock speed than the Xeon W-11855M. Furthermore, both these CPUs have identical turbo speeds. Both these chips have an identical TDP (Thermal Design Power). This measures the amount of heat they output and can be used to estimate power consumption.
Most CPUs have more threads than cores. This technology, colloquially called hyperthreading, improves performance by splitting a core into multiple virtual ones. This provides more efficient utilisation of a core. Indeed, the Xeon W-11855M has more threads than cores. Each physical core is split into multiple threads.
